Suppose I should wait for "official news" from MN Lynx but the web site is too slow in filtering news (if at all) - Seimone had an ESPN chat today - but not news worthy to put on the Lynx site I guess Brick wall but anyway, seem "social media" trumps news releases.

The west coast counterpart to M. Voepel in the Mid-west & M. Greenberg out East, Michelle Smith has tweeted the following :

Quote:
leftcoasthoops Candice Wiggins will have surgery to repair ruptured Achilles tendon on Friday in Los Angeles. Recovery time: 6 months. Good luck to No. 11!

Mel Greenberg posted a blog entry on the Lynx @ Lib game :

Michelle Smith also writes for FanHouse & here is her update:

Glad her agent aided in hooking her up w/a specialist & getting it repaired asap so she can move on & just start to think about recovery. Also glad she'll be home with family for post-op recovery & a little TLC

I can't help but feel like this hit Wiggs pretty hard as she loves the game so much & was just getting in the flow. The meniscus surgeries were just a bit of a bother compared to this injury. But once she gets over the shock & the surgery out of the way, she’ll find that sunshine she always manages to find when things get rough.

I have no doubt she’ll work her way back & be ready for next season
